Feature request: Mass-import workflows using the same settings

asked on August 2, 2016

It seems Workflow Designer allows importing only one .wfi file at a time. This can get cumbersome, since you then have to go through the import wizard for each and every single file you're importing. I just had to do that for 15 workflows...

There should be a batch import option that lets you define the settings you want for the initial workflow, and then reuse those same settings for all subsequent workflows. Similar to the "apply these properties to all entries in the batch" option in the repository's file import dialog.

Also, in the import wizard, when you pick "don't replace object" option for the data source (when it finds a data source with the same name in the destination), it forces you to configure every database activity in the workflow. Seems like the behavior could be improved.

Sorry I misread your question! More powerful importing tools for Workflows and Forms is definitely on our radar.

It is possible to export multiple Workflows and .wfi's at a time. In the 'Export Workflows' dialog, you can select multiple Workflows by ctrl-clicking or shift-clicking them. By default this will package them into one big .wfi. You can also however, choose to separate them into separate .wfi's by clicking the button at the bottom of the Workflow.

I agree this functionality could be more clear.

Yeah, in our case, the workflows were exported at different times, so they were individual .wfi files. We didn't have access to the original workflow server anymore (VM crashed) so re-exporting wasn't an option.
