Question

Email service task-sending to team members

asked on July 29, 2016 Show version history

Is there a way to define a team role as the recipient of an email in an email service task?

Use case is that I need to notify two members of the team (role=technician) after another task is completed but I don't want to identify them by name in the "send to" since I want to manage the business process using team roles.

Thoughts?

Yes, you can send emails to teams in 10.4. However the ability to send emails to a team and including a team filter is not yet available. That is tentatively slated for 10.5.

There is no update on emailing directly to a subset of team members based on role. We are looking in to adding the ability to email to a team in Forms 10.4.

Was this feature rolled into the 10.4 update?

We use a stored procedure to fill a field on the form; it works that way.  New feature would be great.

We would also really like to be able to address email tasks to roles within Teams. We manage all our task assignments that way, which is key due to staff turnover. Email service tasks really need to be able to be managed the same way. Thanks!

Did this feature ever get released? I'm on Forms 11 and want to use an email service task to send to specific team members when a signal catch event is triggered to notify of a change. We already have filters set up for the user task assignment but can't find a way to make the filter usable in the email service task.

I would like to take advantage of this feature as well, and we're also on 11 update 2.  I suspect it hasn't yet been implemented yet as I can't find it anywhere either.

This feature has not been supported yet, it is still in our backlog list and we have some design issue as email service task support email to multiple teams and user task can only assign to one team.
