Question

Page cannot be displayed after setting config for Web Admin

asked on July 25, 2016

When I setup the Web Admin Config page I entered the following:

checked the use SSO
https://Janice.thewengergroup.com/lfdssts
laserfiche lfds
https://Janice.thewengergroup.com/webadmin

After setting up Web Admin Config page, IIS restarted.  Since that restart, I cannot access the Web Admin Config or the Web Admin pages.  I get the Page Cannot be Displayed error message.

I reran the install for Web Admin 10.1 and it didn't prompt for a repair, it just ran the install.  Install completed successfully, but I still cannot get into Web Admin.

I have not yet uninstalled the Web Admin and completely reinstalled.  Looking for some advice. thanks.

For the Web Administration URL item on Web Admin Config page, could you try https://Janice.thewengergroup.com/WebAdmin instead of https://Janice.thewengergroup.com/webadmin to see if this works for you,  note that Web Administration URL item on Web Admin Config page is case sensitive.

I can't even get to the WebAdmin config page to undo what I did, that's the problem.

Hi Michelle,

I had the same issue. To resolve the issue, i uninstalled Webadmin Console and then i Re-installed it. Then everything worked.

Gert, to which of my two issues are you referring?  The original issue where the page couldn't be displayed was corrected.  The second where I can't add windows users/groups because it is showing my old server connection is still an issue for me.

Hi Michelle, To your post above that said you are unable to access webadmin console to change the configuration settings. I had that issue today.

You can modify the data directly in the configuration file: C:\ProgramData\Laserfiche\WebAdmin\Config\GeneralData.json

The SSO configuration section looks like this:

  "Lfds": {
    "EnableLFDS": true,
    "IssuerUrl": "https://yourmachine.laserfiche.com/LFDSSTS/",
    "RealmUrl": "https://yourmachine.laserfiche.com/WebAdmin/",
    "LicenseSite": "yourSiteName",
    "RequireSsl": true,
    "LicenseServerListeningPort": 5048,
    "LicenseServerListeningPortSSL": 5049
  }

You can either make the modification to Hua mentioned directly in this file, or you can set "EnableLFDS" to false , which should allow you to access the page again.

After you modify this file, reset IIS manually to make sure the changes take effect.

Brianna,

I was able to set the "Enable LFDS" to false as you directed and after the IIS restart was able to access both the config and the WebAccess pages again.  Thank you!

But this brings me back to why I was setting the WebAccess config the way I did:  I am getting an error when trying to add a windows user/group.  When I go to select a Windows Account starting with "laserfiche - " (as all my groups are named) I get 0 results and an "Error The server is not operational".  When I go to Groups and click on the ... I get "Error Object reference not set to an instance of an object".

The setting under "look in this location" was the old server name so that's why I wanted to setup the SSO using the new server name thinking this would help since I can't change that in the WebAdmin console.  Looking for thoughts on how to best get access to my AD information via the WebAdmin console.  Thanks!

I have no problem adding a group using the client version of the Admin console.
