Here's what I've tried:

  • Import Profiles - currently using, pretty slick but naming could be better.  Using Workflow to correct name of each new email.
    • ISSUE:  Cannot drag'n drop multiple emails at once.  Import Profile will only handle the first email as expected and leaves the others (we DID put the checkmark in the "apply these properties to all entries..." spot.  And Workflow didn't pick up on the additional ones either, so only one out of five emails ended up named and templated.
  • Defaults in Tools\Options - set for an email template.  Bringing in email date, sender, recipient, subject all nicely, no matter which way I bring them in.
    • QUESTION:  It won't let me set a default "Department" choice in the Department field for each employee, going in through their Clients' Tools\Options for default email template.  How can I do that for them, so they don't have to pick it for each email (the field is a list field)?
  • Outlook Laserfiche tab for "Save to default folder" - Nice option!  I figured out how to set the default folder today (going into the Web Admin Console.
  • Attachments - Tried the three settings with the result all being the same:
    • Test #1: Default set with "Attachments - File Separately".
    • Test #2: then added check mark in "apply email fields to attachments" (no change)
    • Test #3: then added check mark in "file distribution list" (no change except additional blank document.
    • QUESTION:  What's the point of the file distribution list if all it does is add a blank document with just a "Sender" "Receiver" info in the saved Text?
    • QUESTION:  If the attachments are separated, how can I get them Linked to the email without the users having to do that part?
    • QUESTION:  How can I get it to NOT bring in the logos that sometimes come up as attachments?
  • PROBLEM!  Recently began using Windows 10 and Outlook 2016; and, now when someone brings in an email, it locks the document.  I believe the problem is related to Outlook 2016 considering an email open if you have clicked onto it, however, the LF lock will not unlock, even if I get the employee to click off the email in their Outlook.  They have to close Outlook to get the lock off.  This is a problem, because, even though I have some automation on naming and templating, they still need to go in and pick their department (in the dept field) and sometimes they want to change the name a bit, or add some additional key words in the Subject fields.  They cannot, because of the lock it has on it.

Thanks for any help or suggestions you can pass along to me.
