Help with showing colored input/text/etc fields on one form to the next reviewer in process

asked on July 21, 2016

I have script in a specific version of a form partway through a forms process that changes select items (dropdowns), checkboxes and input areas to have red text when they are changed by the current reviewer; however, I can't figure out how to keep these attributes on the form as it is forwarded to the manager for review.

To further clarify the process, I have a Purchase Order being submitted, then the reviewer is allowed to make changes to another version of the Purchase Order; however, all their changes show in red.  I then want the form to go back to the original submitter (for approval) as read-only, showing the changes made by the reviewer in red, but I can't seem to make that happen.  The changes show in regular text color, so there is no easy visual check for the submitter to tell what things have been changed.

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Melaine,

You can't alter the submitted form's appearance. The field values the user submits are repopulated into a blank form, meaning that no css properties you changed/added through your scripts are added. This is intended by design.

Ok, how about getting the form to save to the repository with the changes displayed in red?  That would help my process, but that is not currently happening either.  Is there a way to make that happen?

Thanks!

Unfortunately that isn't a straight forward way to do this.
