Question

Why isn't the native Signature appearing on form in repository?

asked on July 18, 2016 Show version history

I am using the signature option from the forms developer without any additional scripting.  When I send an email of the form to the submitter (Team Member IT form), the signature appears.  When the form is saved to the repository (Judy Bloom Author-New) it says Sign where the signature should be.  Why is this?

If after the form is signed and submitted, if it goes to someone else to look at or for approval it needs to be write protected or it will not show up.  Is this the case you are seeing or is it after the form is signed it goes straight to the repository?

You can set "make form read-only for the users the task is assigned to" for the approval user task to protect the signature be re-written.

OK, so if I send the form to anyone who needs to approve it, and at any point along the path I DO NOT have "make form read-only for the users the task is assigned to" set, it will wipe out the signature?

So how do I allow my approvers to update form content AND retain the signature?

You can make a copy of the form and set the signature to be read only in the copied form and use this copied form in the user task, then the read-only signature will retain the signature.

Xiuhong,  So are you saying I can set just the signature field as read only?  If that is the case, why do I need to make a copy of the form?

To have two forms then you can have the signature on the first form to be editable so user can sign it  and on the second form to be editable so that the signature signed in first form can be kept.
