Laserfiche server encountered an error when trying to create or attache a repository: 9008

asked on July 15, 2016

Hello,

I currently have a user who unregistered a repository that was functioning normally. When they went to re-register the repository they receive the error:

Laserfiche server encountered an error when trying to create or attache a repository: 9008

The SQL Server and LF Server are on two different machines. The LF server can ping the SQL server and get a response. The below is the error that populated in event viewer:

Database statement execution error encountered.  Session ID: ; Dialog ID: ; Repository: 'LaserficheSydney'; CLI routine: SysRepAttach; Message: [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]Login failed for user 'AP\SING-LF01$'.; SQL Statement: 'Statement independent operation: Connect.'; SQL variable: ''; SQL State: 28000.

What could be causing this issue?

Thanks!

From the error message, your Laserfiche Server is running as Local System and you're trying to use Windows Authentication to log into SQL. Local System cannot log into remote machines. Either change the LF Server service to run as a domain user with rights to log into SQL or change the authentication section to use a SQL user.
