I have a user that opened an Excel document already under version control. She worked in version 3 of the document and saved her changes as a new version. When she went back to the document later in the week, the last modified date in the right pane of the client was the date of version 3. All her work was lost. In version control, it shows 4 versions with the date of version 4 as the date she made her changes but when clicking on version 4, it says "Changes: None" at the bottom as opposed to "Changes: Pages, Electronic document" for the other versions. How can it offer to "Save as a new version" yet not get ANY changes?
I see there are quite a few posts out there about data loss on Office documents, especially Excel. All answers seem to point to checking out the version due to loss of connection to the server. Does this sound like a case of dropped connection? Is that a network issue or does Laserfiche drop the connection automatically after a while?
