Question

How do I print a blank version of my form?

asked on July 13, 2016

I have a use case where we need to print a blank copy of a form that resides in LF Forms for evaluation by auditors.  How do I print a blank form for the auditor to review?  Screen printing a form is not effective since it has several sections not visible due to field rules.  Please advise.  Thank you.

There may be an easier way to do this, but in case you're in a hurry I can give you a way that works.  I frequently need to do this in order to have a blank starting form for preparing a fillable PDF.  What I do is to temporarily disable any default entries in the fields from the edit screen, and then remove the field rules temporarily as well, so that all the fields show on the form.  That way, you can go through the process without actually entering any information and save the form to the repository for printing out.  Of course, you would have to remove the "required" tag on any entries you have deemed required as well.

Rick,  I figured that your method would be the way I'd need to go to do this.  Since taking all of those settings off the form to produce a blank takes time, it sounds like it would be good to keep a blank copy in the repository.  I will have to figure out how to best manage this given our number of forms.  Thanks for the assistance!

Just an FYI, in case you already have a 'fillable PDF' step in a workflow from a forms submission, you could just take an already submitted form and delete all the entries from the fields.

I do not yet have any fillable PDFs but I will keep this in mind! Thanks!
