Locking Emails – While testing with the new Import Profile today, two of us noticed that one of our tests locked the document. It believed we still had the document open. We had to close Outlook in order to get LF to remove the lock on the documents. This is potentially an issue, because I cannot get the Import Profile to name the document the way we want it to, so people have to go in and rename and also add some more detail in the metadata fields. We can’t have it locking documents. Any suggestions? (EDITED UPDATE: We're thinking now they were open in Outlook. We were thinking of them as image documents that would show as open in LF, but... maybe we actually did have them open in Outlook and didn't realize it.) (ADDITIONAL UPDATE: Found what it is! Windows 10 actually treats an email as open if you have clicked on that email. You don't have to double click and have another window open. Once I move to another email in the list in my Email InBox, LF takes the lock off the email.)
Also with the Import Profile, it won’t allow me to rename right at the window before it takes the document in (window as captured below). If I change the name here, it first allows me to, but then I press Okay and the document is taken into LF, into the right folder, but it’s now changed the name back to the generic name. Which means I have to go back in and rename it again. Also,
Also, it's picking up the Subject line of the email, and properly adding it to the Subject field, but only adding a portion of the subject into the document name. Why not the whole Subject line?
And the Sender was picking up earlier today and adding it to the fields as programmed, but it's not doing that this afternoon.
I really like this new Import Profile, but I'll need it to do just a bit more before I can recommend it to our staff.
