Question

When scanning and storing documents into LF, user is prompted to log into repository

asked on July 8, 2016 Show version history

Hello All,

I am experiencing an issue where a user is no longer able to succesfully scan into Laserfiche Client. No changes or upgrades have been made on the machine. I have tested to see if the issue follows the user to another machine, which it does. The issues have arisen are:

1.)  Now when the user scans, it is including blank pages.  This is despite having settings to remove them.

2.)  The user also is missing her default folder name for where to save it.

3.)  It asks her to log into the repository each time she tries to save it.

Is there anything known that may have caused these three issues to essentially appear abruptly although no changes have been made to the user that we know of?

Thanks!

The blank pages could be a change in scan settings. For ex, say you were scanning in black and white and had Page Removal set based on the file size. If you switch to scanning in greyscale or color, the file size for a blank page would change.

But that would be just guessing. Please open a support case to troubleshoot this issue.

Digging up an old post here, but this issue (prompted for login when trying to store documents from LF Scanning) came up recently with another customer.

The issue is that Laserfiche Scanning was configured to store documents using the parent folder's default volume. The problem was that the user in question has read-only access to that volume.

To address the matter, volume security was changed so that the user in question could add files, create documents, etc. in the volume. Alternatively, you could modify Laserfiche Scanning to store documents in a different volume.
