Question

Web Access Metadata Fields

asked on July 5, 2016

I just noticed today that the fields in Web Access are not filled out, but in the client they are filled. Is there a reason why a submitted Laserfiche Form wouldn't show the proper fields in Web Access but in the client?

A support case had been opened for this issue and Web Access SCR 146420 has been filed for the issue.

The Everyone group was being denied the read template access right. However, the field access rights were still set to "allow".

A user with the "Manage templates and fields" privilege was viewing the metadata. The Client is behaving correctly in that it still allows the user to see the fields in the template and to see the values in those fields.

Web Access lets the user see the fields in the template as well, but it just wasn't showing the values in those fields so that's what we'll be addressing.

The workaround is to not explicitly deny the read template access right for Everyone and instead, just leave both "allow" and "deny" unchecked for it.

Web Access and the client should show the same field values. Can you provide more details about what kind of fields they are? Maybe some screenshots of client vs Web Access?

Yeah, that's why I am so puzzled. It's fields for an Application. They are all filled out in the client but not Web Access. I am logged in with the same credentials. So I am not sure why it's not populating.

Strange. Why do you have template field and social security field grayed out in web access but not the same in client. Are both of those same entry id's.

Not sure...I just refreshed it on my screen and it's no longer greyed out. Not sure what's going on.

If it is the same document and you are signed in as the same user, this must be a bug in Web Access. Please open a support case so we can troubleshoot it further.

Two places to look for more information on the error:

- The browser developer tools (hit F12 to open it) might have an error printed in the console.

- If you have access to the Web Access server machine, check the system event log and the logs in c:\ProgramData\Laserfiche\WebAccess\EventLog.

I will get with my VAR to see when they can open up a case.

Wouldn't be bad to try with alternate browser & or on another computer...
