Question

Making field private based on user

asked on July 4, 2016 Show version history

Hello Laserfiche Users,

We have made a form for employees to fill out their Performance Appraisals. When the employee is finished filling the form out it automatically gets routed to the manager and then the CAO for signing. On this form we have a multi-line value field that I would like to make private, this is for the employees own use. This field will be used throughout the year for there own notes.

My question is.. How do I make this field only for the eyes of the employee not the manager or CAO.

The picture below is an unfinished example of the multi-line field that I would like to be visible only to the employee.

There are two ways: 1. add two forms: one for employee; on for manager and CAO. The form for manager and CAO contains everything but the fields only visible to the employee; 2. use one form and hide the fields based on steps, you can refer to https://answers.laserfiche.com/questions/68329/Hiding-Form-Fields-based-on-UserParticipant-OR-One-Form-Multiple-EditsReviewers. The step ID is available on the properties dialog since Forms 10.0 and no longer need to get it from database.
