Blank Signature on PDF

Hey! An interesting thing happened today with one of our forms...

A user filled out a required signature field (along with the rest of the form) and then clicked Submit. On the PDF version of the submitted form, the signature field was blank for some reason (see a screenshot here). I watched the user enter a signature, so there's no reason for it to be blank.

FWIW: That same user filled out many other forms on the same laptop (all of which had a required signature field), and this issue did not occur.

If the signature had not been properly collected, I would have expected the form not to allow a submission (since the signature field is required). Instead, the form allowed a submission.

Any ideas? We're on Version 9.2.1.1069. Thanks!

PS: We rely heavily on the PDF version of the form to prove that a signature was collected from the user. Having it be blank after a submission makes this tricky. :)

I found sometimes when we sign a form (with the keyboard) and quickly click the Sign button, what we entered sometimes doesn't appear in the signature field. It seems like it needs a little time to process it. Maybe that was the case for your user?

Ah yes! I think you're right.

I just tried to reproduce this issue, by very quickly entering a name and then clicking Sign. It's not easy to reproduce, but I was able to do so in my FIRST attempt in the following video: http://screencast.com/t/F9OVlQqIT5Xo (the other attempts in the video failed to reproduce the issue).

For my real-life user, she did not enter her name nearly as quickly as I did in the video above, but the issue still occurred.

Is this something that Laserfiche could try reproducing?

Hi Jonathan, I can reproduce it when the network is slow. I filed an SCR for it.

If you look at the submission in the instance details, is the signature there? If it is, check the event viewer for any errors converting the form to PDF.

The issue has been fixed in Forms 10.1 update 2 (10.1.0.619), you can download the update from  https://support.laserfiche.com/kb/1013792
