Question

WebLink - Show PDF on "Document contains no pages"

asked on June 27, 2016

Greetings All - I've recently been pushed into the world of Laserfiche and I have a question regarding the Laserfiche WebLink through a New World Systems process.

The question came through to me to see if there's a way to eliminate the steps of download and then opening the PDF files within PO's.

Users go through New World Systems, find a PO, and click on the PO Number. IE pulls up a new window, see PaperclipClick.png attached, where they click on the 'Paperclip' to view the attached PDF. That then pops up another window which shows the "LFWebLinkADF.png" attachment ready to download.

Currently, they click on the download icon and it will download and they can open it. The user asking would like to have the PDF show in that window without having to click on the download button.

I've done some small searching and saw tips to check into the Adobe Add-On within IE, by disable/enabling it, but that doesn't result in anything.

First you can generate pages for your pdf and that will be shown on the web page without the need for downloading.

second you can try these links to open the same document and see if that makes any difference.

http://localhost/weblink/0/edoc/16087/jun.pdf

http://localhost/weblink/ElectronicFile.aspx?docid=16087&dbid=0

Third, you can take a look at this and see if it help.

Am I correct to assume that this would be Client Side settings that I would need to communicate for my users? I don't believe their clients were initially setup with those options on, and we have years of information already entered.

Is there a way for us (admins) to 'Bulk Generate' pages? Or will each PDF need to be touched manually?

Lastly, 90% of our users are scanning the information in. Does that process have the option/ability to Generate Pages?

Thanks for the reply Junaid. I confirmed the Adobe PDF Addon is set to Enable; and we tried disabling it and re-enabling it but it had no effect.

How can I go about checking our system/setting to Generate Pages for those PDF's?

You can generate pages for pdf when they are being imported.

And you can also generate pages for pdf that are in the repository.
