Question

Hide checkbox field based on text field input

asked on June 21, 2016 Show version history

I want to hide the No Work Experience checkbox field if the applicant fills out the Company Name text field or any of the other required fields shown below.  I attempted to do this in Field Rules and was unable to get it to work.  Is there Java or CSS that can help me?

Hi Vanessa,

You can accomplish this using Field Rules. Here is an example:

Let me know if that helps!

That is what I had and it wasn't working.  I am able to get it to hide the Work Experience section when the No Work Experience checkbox is selected, but not the other way around.

Hi Vanessa,

First, is this a repeating collection where you have multiple sections which each have their own "No Work Experience" checkbox and assorted other fields? Or was the image just pasted twice?

Second, this should be able to be accomplished by field rules (see Ming's example above; you can add other criteria under "Company Name" line to account for other fields). Could you upload an image of the field rules you configured which did not work? Also did you have any existing CSS or JavaScript operating on any of the fields in question?

Cheers

It can be a repeating collection, but in this instance it was just pasted twice on accident. The No Work Experience checkbox is not part of that collection.
