Question

SQL Server 2012 R2 SP3

asked on June 17, 2016

Hi,

My customer wants to move their DB to a new SQL 2012 R2 SP3 box for their LF9 system. Since I don't see this version in the release notes, will it cause any issues using Laserfiche with it? Are there any gotchas to be aware of from a LF support perspective?

Thanks,

Brian

There is no issue with LF9 and SQL 2012.  You should be able to do a backup of the database from the original SQL server, and restore it to the new SQL server.  Then register the repository and point to the database on the new SQL server.

Hi Brian,

This KB article shows all supported SQL configurations for Laserfiche 9.

https://support.laserfiche.com/KB/1013137

Like you say SP3 isn't explicitally mentioned but I don't see why there would be any issues, the main thing is having valid Microsoft support.

Hope this helps answer your question! yessmiley

I've been asked about SP3 support by another client. I guess the key question is whether Laserfiche would support such a configuration?

Yes, it's supported.
