"Print to Laserfiche" feature in Connector

asked on March 31, 2016 Show version history

Does anyone know of a way to get the Connector to "print to Laserfiche" from a website? I need to be able to print the webpage being viewed to Laserfiche via the connector and auto populate some metadata on that page into fields. I can get the metadata easily, but it seems like it will have to be a 2 step process. 1. save/print the page to Laserfiche. 2. extract metadata from page via Connector.

Am I missing something?

I did find a way to essentially get the metadata you want from a webpage into snapshot but the user would still need to file>print>snapshot.  If you use the "write data to an application" action you can select a web browser as your application you want to get information from and then select snapshot as the application you want to push the data into.  In order to setup the snapshot portion I did have to file>print>snapshot so the connector could identify snapshot.

I don't know if it's possible at this point. It seems as though if you could have Connector grab the data from the screen you need and then launch Snapshot to print it to Laserfiche and populate the metadata, that would be perfect!

We're looking into a 'screenshot' action for a future version of Connector, but it's not there yet. It's good to hear additional interest in it. For now, I'd suggest what it sounds like you are currently doing - using external application to proceed.
