9.2.1 SP1 Admin Console installer broken

asked on August 7, 2015 Show version history

Can you have someone look at the SP1 installer - in particular the installer for the Admin console? On a 64-bit machine it's installing LFAdmin.dll in the Program Files (x86)/Laserfiche/Client/Admin directory and resetting all Admin console shortcuts to point there.  The only file in that directory is LFadmin.dll, so needless to say, the shortcuts are all broken and so is the admin console after the update. You'll see a "Error loading LFSO92.dll" message if you go to the Program Files/Laserfiche/Client/Admin directory and launch the msc from there.

The Client update to SP1 is working properly - so far it looks like it's just the admin portion that's not detecting it's installing on a 64-bit machine.

The re-release of the SP1 installer has fixed the issue.

Good to hear. Thanks for reporting this, we were able to figure this out based on that!

Hi Geoffrey,

We double-checked this internally and it seems to work in the base case so there might be something else going on. The best approach would be to get a support case on this so we can look over the install logs. Thanks!

Thanks Justin,

I've sent info to my VAR (they weren't able to repro it either) so hopefully they already have a case open with you. I tried it on two different Windows 7 64-bit machines, one physical, one virtual, and get the same result on both.

Update: Just ran the installer with logging enabled. Very odd. All of the component logs except the admin install are verbose and the log files are 2-5 megs. The admin install log file is only 4K and contains almost no detail:

Very odd. I've sent all the logs to my VAR.
