Thanks,

I am still not finding anything on this.  While there is a nice white paper on designing a backup plan for LF 10, it would be great to have a separate white paper on setting up a standard SQL maintenance plan so that customers can know what to do without needing to have a SQL DBA in-house.

Thanks, Rob.  Our customer was recently instructed by tech support to perform SQL maintenance on their dbs.  They wanted a guide to set up a maintenance plan for the future.

Thanks,

Jen

I am also quite interested in finding a standardized whitepaper on the best procedures/tasks to run on the Databases on a periodic scheduled bases. I have looked through these documents and dont see very much regarding this.

Does anyone run database indexes or cleanups on their databases?

Regards.

I just come from Empower 2023, LF folks there said should be a white paper on the Laserfiche site.

I think we all agree that there should be, lol. Maybe they haven't published it yet?

Hello Jen,

The closest thing I was able to find was this blurb in the Laserfiche Rio 9.2 Deployment Guide.

Back Up Your Licensing Database

There are various tools for backing up Microsoft SQL Server database available. As part of you standard maintenance plan for SQL Server, you should also make sure to back up the Directory Server database. SQL Management Studio and SQL Management Studio Express contain a native backup tool that can be used to back up Directory Server licensing databases. SQL Management Studio is installed by default with Microsoft SQL Server, and SQL Management Studio Express can be downloaded from the Microsoft website.

Was there a certain topic that you would like some guidance on?

We do have other whitepapers on the Support Site that may be useful, but these haven't been updated in a few years and material contained may be slightly out of date.

I'd be interested in a white paper or more info on this as well. Smaller clients can't afford a DB admin, and have questions about maintenance.
