9025 - Error reading Repository Information or Repository is misconfigured

asked on February 5, 2015 Show version history

Hi,

While using the Laserfiche Repository Creation Wizard I encountered the error "server encountered an error when trying to create or attach the repository", 4025 - Error reading Repository Information  or Repository is misconfigured.

I am using version 9.2 and SQL Express 2012 Adv. The SQL server is recognized by the wizard but the final step of creating the new repository won't run and gives me the above error. I used Windows authentication and the LF server service account has sufficient permissions to the SQL server.

Pls can anybody help out?

  • Do you have SQL server management studio? As a test, are you able to manually create a SQL db using that application?
  • Is the SQL instance you are trying to use in the same machine or on another machine?  If it is the later, please make sure that the LF server service you are using has Sysadmin rights to SQL.
  • You should also make sure that you are licensed for full SQL.  You can get this message if you are only licensed for SQL Express but are actually trying to create a repository using full SQL.

Derek - Yes,the Windows account have Sysadmin.

Raymond - Yes i do have SQL server management studio and i was able to manually create a SQL db.

The SQL instance is in the same Machine and the LF server service has admin rights.

I am licensed for SQL express.

I have uninstalled and gone through the whole process again to make sure i didn't make a mistake. But I still get the same error message.

Thank you Derek and Raymond found the problem, it was the rights. I just had to look at it again.

Hi ,

What rights does a SQL User need to be able to make a LF Connection from another server?

I can also login with SQL Management Studio, but get this error on Laserfiche when attempting to connect to the SQL Instance.

It could be that LF is not licensed to use Full SQL?

Thanks

Gert

What account is the LF server service using?  Is it on the same machine as the SQL instance it is using? If it is not, please make sure it is not using a local system account.  Instead have it us a domain account that has sysadmin rights to SQL.

If you have rights to SQL, check the SQL native client installed on the machine. If you have 2012 with LF 9.1.1, you will need SQL 2005 native client.  If you have 9.2, you will need the SQL 2008r2 Native client on the server machine.

Hi Raymond, it is not on the same server and the Lf service is using local account. So it won't matter if I want to connect to a full sql license?

Will change the account to use a domain account with access to sql. I used a sql user with db owner rights to connect to the external sql instance.

It is 9.2 and will confirm if it has the correct native client installed. Just to make sure, the native client must be installed on the same Lf server?

Thanks

Gert

No it wont.  It is the service that is logging in.  You need to change it from Local system since local means exactly that.  It has no rights except locally. Whatever account you use, make sure the account has sysadmin rights.  If your LF volumes are also on another machine (separate from the LF server), you also need to make sure that the account has full rights to the volume location.
