Laserfiche Ricoh Connector 1.1 and Ricoh's Smart Operation Panel (SOP) testing..

posted on February 2, 2015

Hi All,

I have started testing the Ricoh Smart Operation Panel (SOP) with the Ricoh Connector v1.1, and below are the findings to date:

1. Application installs without any problems on the device (Zip file installed using Web Image Monitor)

2. The application runs on  the device in Compatibility mode on the Smart Operation Panel (SOP) - The layout does not change from previous Ricoh Model installs.

3. Files were sent to the Laserfiche repository using the application, I was able to attach a template and fill in data before sending the completed file to the repository.

I will update this once more testing is complete. I will also await to see if Laserfiche will advise that the screen layout will change to accommodate the new Smart Operation Panel feel?

Thank you

Regards

Hi again, Ziad;

Do the scanned documents go directly into the users Laserfiche repository?

Are they naming the documents at the Ricoh device or when seated at their computers?

Thank you,

Dina

Hi Dina,

It can be either / or. From memory, a user can create custom scan profiles within the application for faster saving.

Thank you

Good morning,

I wanted to follow up on your Ricoh connect and find out how it is performing for you and if this a large pool of users.  (200 users, 40+ devices)

Thank you in advance!

Hi Dina,

It it not something that I have come across yet, to be honest. Basically, have never deployed it to such a large volume before so I do not think I can be much help with this?

Apologies in advance,

Ziad

Hi Cynthia,

Hope you are well,

I did use the same procedure you would use if the machine had a non SOP screen.

I know there are 2 methods available on the installation guide, but I used the one where you would open up the .dalp file and edit it with the Server information. Then ZIP the folder up with the License file before loading it to the device.

File is attached below, I have copied through the .dalp configuration I was mentioning earlier (this is found in the installation guide page 11):

==========

* Configure your network/firewall

Ensure your network/firewall configuration allows inbound connections from the Ricoh devices to the Laserfiche Server on the listening port. The default listening port is 80 or 5050.

* Prepare the application ZIP file
Create an application ZIP file that will be uploaded to the MFP device.
1. Open the directory that contains the application:
[app-dir]\ 34096641
2. Open the LfConnector.dalp file in this folder and verify the following arguments are set correctly:
–s (Laserfiche Server name), -p (listening port), and –r (repository name)
Other arguments are listed in the Configure arguments in the LfConnector.dalp file section above.
3. Ensure the generated license file (lf.licx) is copied to this directory so that it’s included in the ZIP file created in the next step. See the Laserfiche license section above.
4. Use a ZIP tool to create a ZIP file containing all the files in the above directory. The name of the ZIP file name is not important.
5. Copy the ZIP file to the location where you will perform the installation. You can perform the installation from any workstation that has network access to the Ricoh devices.

==========

Hope this assists you,

Regards
