Question

LF Social BPM Database not found

asked on January 7, 2015

Hi everyone,

I am trying to install and configure the Laserfiche Social BPM, however when I click to go to Social BPM preview and i try to log with a user and password from a login in the Server Directoy, it shows "Database not found" , and the directory server and lf social bpm are in the same server! What thing could I have been missing so that won't find the database?

Thanks for the help

Regards,

Vitor

This issue has been resolved as such.

When Configuring SocialBPM via the SocialBPMConfig page, Under "User Authentication", for "Laserfiche Directory Server database name", The user was using the actual Laserfiche Directory Server Database name from SQL and not the LFDS's name from the Directory server site. Therefore this caused the "no database found" issue. After this was corrected, the issue was resolved.

As in mentioned in light gray text "Enter the database's display name, as shown in the Laserfiche Directory Server Web Administration site."

The "display name", for clarification, is the name within the red boxes in this screenshot.

I fell victim to the same confusion.

I think better language could be:

"Enter the Directory Server Licensing Site Name identified on the Overview tab" instead of enter the database name.

When I hear database name I think of the SQL database name which is also indicated in the Laserfiche Directory Web Administration site on the settings page.

Cheers,

Carl

Do you have SQL Server Management Studio on the same machine?

If you use that, can you connect to it and view the SQL databases attached to the instance you are trying to use with your current windows account?

If the account you use with for SQL Server Management Studio works, then use that account in the Social BPM Database config.

Yes , I have, and yes i am able to connect and see the database. I did put the user on the account social bpm database, however it still given the error! I guess that social bpm is not finding the Server Direcory database to authenticate the user, but dont know way it cannot find being in the same database!

A case has been opened with Support for this issue. For the benefit of others, the resolution will be posted to this thread once we have it.

Is it possible to edit the name of the Site within Laserfiche Directory Server?
