Failed to load annotations. This image cannot be modified. General database error. [9008] - after upgrade from 8.3.2 to 9.1.1

asked on May 12, 2014 Show version history

We upgraded from 8.3.2 to 9.1.1. Since that time, there have been a number of documents that users open and are receiving the following error message:

Failed to load annotations. This image cannot be modified. General database error. [9008]

The reactions on the pages no longer exist. This is a BIG problem. Things are redacted for a reason.

This happens using the 8.3.2 client and the 9.1.1 client. Web Access doesn't report an error.

Here are the clipboard details:

Error Code: 9008
Error Message: Failed to load annotations.  This image cannot be modified.
General database error. [9008]

Edit: looks like the redactions still appear for those that just have read rights and can't see through them.

Laserfiche provided a script for Oracle databases and it appears to have worked. They should be adding it to the KB shortly.

I have resolved this multiple times using the SQL script from the KB article. Warning: It requires the service be offline and can take awhile to run, up to an hour or so on our larger databases.

Thanks! Can anyone verify that the script with work as-is for an Oracle DBMS?

This KB article helped us out with a similar situation.  This was version 7 to 9.1.1 upgrade.
