Ports Required for Forms and Weblink

asked on May 7, 2013 Show version history

Good afternoon,

We have a client that is looking at purchasing Forms and Weblink. They are a state agency and have extraordinarily tight security.

Weblink and Forms will both be public-facing, outside their internal firewall. What ports are needed to be opened between Weblink/Forms and the Laserfiche Servers?

Also, what ports need to be opened to the public? 80 and 443 I assume for typical Web usage, but are there any other ports that are required?

Thanks!

Hello,

Both Forms and WebLink install under the Default Web Site on the web server, and therefore will use the port bindings you have assigned in IIS (by default 80 for http and 443 for https). The Laserfiche Server uses port 80 and 5051 by default, though both values can be changed in the Laserfiche Admin Console.

For a general list of ports used by Laserfiche products, please consult the following DevNotes page on the Support Site.

Forms isn't listed on the DevNotes page. My packet capture is showing at least 6 ports that it wants to use, and I'd like to know why it needs it. Especially when the forms DMZ config only lists 3 ports.

So far, Forms is trying to use

135 TCP

137 UDP

433 TCP

1433 TCP

1434 UDP

5050 TCP

Are there any additional ports that need to be opened if the customer is going to use Windows Authentication for their internal users but the Forms server is public facing for the external users?

Thanks,
