LFDS Username show parameters instead of actual username

Hi,

 

We are trying to import user from Windows AD and some user give parameters like value instead of actual username. Actual username from Windows AD is vivin. 

I notice it might because of hte " / " symbol since its happen to every name with that symbol. Although I'm not too sure.

Any idea how to solve this ?

Hi Chase,

Yup we did. And I found out the culprit finally. Its when the Full Name value from Windows AD having symbols such in this ase " / " , it causing this issue.

I removed symbols from Full Name and solve the issue.

Its a bit weird because Display Name value from AD have symbols and it doesn't seems to cause the issue.

Probably because Full Name is taken as CN parameter and for some reason LF not able to process symbols in it. I'm not entirely sure.

Maybe Laserfiche able to clarify this? For now, I will mark this as answer.

Hi Mohd,

An issue like this may be better suited to a support case. With that said, do you have a test user you could add a slash to and see if it causes the same issue? You may have to remove the user and re-add them afterwards.

It does appear that LFDS has trouble looking up the sAMAccountName of a user with a "/" in their LDAP distinguished name. I have filed a bug for this, thank you for the heads up.

With regards to the users added with the incorrect usernames, were they being affected by this issue when it comes to using Laserfiche? Any login issues or anything like that?

Thanks for this post everyone! I was losing my mind. Did laserfiche resolve this in LFDS 10.4.5 or is this still an outstanding issue for 10.4? I've confirmed it as present on a 10.4.4.444 install I manage. I've requested the customer change where the "/" is but in the event that they are unwilling, is there anything else that one can do?

I found the bug Chase filed (#356815), and appears that it was first fixed in version 11.0.2203.1435. It doesn't appear that it was back-ported to a 10.4 release.

Yup! I opened a case shortly after shooting this reply over and the fix is confirmed in LFDS 11 update 2. I did have to delete and recreate the users but it wasn't half bad with the userlist exported prior to applying the update. I now have retired my "find the user" workflow that had to be run on almost any dynamically routing forms process. A giant sleeps now!
