Question

backup and archive forms

asked on April 17, 2019

Hi,  Can someone tell me how to backup and recover Forms and Workflows?  It would be a drag to rebuild them :).

Thanks,

Dave

Workflows are the same...backup the db for the entire history.  Save them as a wfx file just to have an individual backup of them.  Just as an FYI, the workflow db by default only keeps a limited time frame of activity.  I don't remember of the top of my head exactly, but it's between 30 and 90 days.

For Forms, if you want to back up the process AND all the completed and in progress instance history, you should back up the entire Forms database. This will also back up all teams, reports, and almost everything else in your Forms server.

If you just want to back up the process and form designs, you can download the process XML in the Manage page and just store those. If you process get's changed incorrectly, you can use your XML backups to overwrite the messed up ones to restore them back to your backups. This will require much less storage space, but wouldn't get you your instance history back if the entire process got deleted.
