CPP Corrections

posted on October 3, 2018

Hi Guys,

I want to start a thread to outline things within the CPP's that need correcting, anyone can add things to this but need to record this info somewhere.

Getting started with Laserfiche 10:-

Technially all these answers are incorrect, the entry access right is called Create Folders

Will keep updating this thread when I find more.

Cheers!

Laserfiche System Administration II - Laserfiche 10 on the new aspire platform!

Volume Configuration and Security

Edit: - Just realised you're expected to name the volume, the HR SPECIAL VOLUME volume.....not the most intuitive name.....

Thank you for the feedback. We've noted your suggestion for future course development. We recently created a new feedback form, feel free to provide us an additional feedback here

Hi there, I have another issue.

In Capture - Best Practices and Customization, specifically the section covering keyboard shortcuts: Whenever you are prompted to assign a shortcut (either the Alt or Ctrl key) to the field it won't accept any input (In one instance, the Interaction box even covers the shortcut key field).

My concern is that this will be an issue on the Application part of the exam and I will be marked down as a result.

Pip,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I've noted this issue and will fix it when I update this course. Let us know if you see any other issues!

In Capture - Basic Scanning Mode: The expected text is not matching up to the displayed text. This is what I typed in:

This is what it was expecting which, as you can see, is not the same as what was displayed:

Sys Admin II

LFDS

I'm pretty sure a retrieval license can only view, not modify.

Also it talks about LFDS only being available for Rio, this is now incorrect.

Thank you. We have added these issues to our course update log. You may also submit such findings via email at Certification@laserfiche.com.

Sys Admin II - Volumes

Clicking here when asked, shows as incorrect, then highlights where you just clicked as correct!?

Sys Admin I

Even though it looks like there is a space after the v of travel, there isn't.

Hi Chris,

Thank you for the screenshot. Can you please tell me title of lesson this is in (form within the System Administration I course)?

Also, can you supply us the titles of the lessons for the posts you submitted on August second?

Sure, this one was 5. Designing a Secure Folder Structure I think.

Thick and fast at the moment:-

System Administration I – Laserfiche 10

This information is stored within the SQL server DB, not the Laserfiche server.

This is correct, though we can probably make the explanation for the incorrect answer clearer. A repository consists of a SQL database and its associated files on disk (volumes, search catalog).

Again, another misleading question. This explicitally states the Laserfiche Server in the same context around architecture literally the slide before this question, the question should read:-

The repository stores all information about documents, including security.

True X

False

Exam for Building Laserfiche Workflows 10

I'm assuming the correct answer for this one is A, but I've no idea why you would need to perform a 'Find Entry' activity when you're interacting with the starting entry? My selection of D in this case was wrong.

You would need Find Entry to get the other entry. I do agree that the question is not very clear.

Hi All,

One more for the list. The application side of Building Laserfiche Workflows 10, you search for the move activity, but then clicking the top one is the wrong answer. You should be able to click either.

This one cost me a point too!

Hi Guys,

One more, there are actually 2 correct answers to this question, you can set the draft options either within the user task or in the start event. I guessed wrong on this one!

In the user task:-

That's technically correct, but the question talks about applicants for a job, which implies starting form (and unauthenticated users).

(Not defending the phrasing, just explaining why only one answer is correct)

Ok, some of these questions in the CPP's in general are really hard if you have any LF knowledge already. As you know there are multiple answers to the question, but you have to think back to what you've actually been told/shown in the course (AKA what you should know at that point vs what you actually know is true). For this one, I don't think we were shown that option as part of the user task in the course material, hence why technically there is 2 answers, but you should pick the one which you were told about.

This makes these exams with poorly detailed questions very hard if you actually have any experience, as you have to pretend that you know nothing apart from what is covered in the course, which you of course have to them remember! Frustrating....

Hi Guys,

Another one for the list. Using Laserfiche Forms 10. The first video has a screenshot of the buttons (release and reassign). However they are the wrong way around in the screenshot on slide 68/176.

When in fact Reassign is actually:-

Threw me for a second!

Getting started with Laserfiche 10 - Navigation Client and Web Access

Does not register a correct answer, I've also tried with other inputs.

replied on November 15, 2018

Another one for the list, I'm not sure which single button you can click which will both save the document and start scanning a new document. Unless I'm missing something, I've tested this myself and can't seem to locate the button in basic scanning or standard scanning.

"New Document" will send the current document and start scanning a new one.

replied on August 6, 2019

Ah ok, I'm guessing you don't get that button in full/standard scanning? (we never use the basic scanning with any of our customers).

Another slightly misleading one:-

By default B&W TIFF images export as TIFF. Colour TIFF images export as PDF.

This question needs to be more detailed.
