Web Client link not working when emailed

asked on August 18, 2017 Show version history

I emailed two links to a user from a folder to which that user has rights and he cannot open them.

The links are to two Word docs located in a production records folder where the user has read and browse rights and can see the documents if opened directly from Web Access.

When the links are emailed and he clicks on them they open a new tab and he gets a 9013 error stating that he doesn't have access rights.  I've double and triple checked his rights to this folder and he can get into it independently of using the links so I don't know what is going on.

Looking for some insight please!

Can you also check the user's rights on the volume?

Based on what I can see as the group assignment of the rights, this user has read rights to the Volume.

Does the error show up if he clicks the links in IE or Chrome or Both?

Is the beginning of the link the fully qualified domain name?  We have had issues in the past where Web Access links were sent using the shortened server name and they failed.  But as soon as we put the full server name on there the links worked.

i.e. short name ****app01\Laserfiche versus long name ****app01.co.*******.mn.us\Laserfiche

We have also had issues with links not working right in IE when we have compatibility mode on.

Jennifer, the redacted section is the fully qualified domain name vs. the shorter server name.  We tried in both IE and Firefox and both failed.  Did not try Chrome.  I will check compatibility mode on his version of IE.  Thanks for the suggestions for possible fixes!
