Question

mysterious auto logging on

asked on June 23, 2017

Has anyone ever experienced a user(s) account automatically signing in to the LF Client? They stay in session way passed the auto logout cut-off time as well. I have been in Admin Console and disconnected the 8 open sessions, refreshed and 4 to 8 new sessions are immediately opened for the user I just kicked off. Very strange behavior. Anyone have any suggestions as to what to even look at?

Thank you!

Ed what does the Admin Console Sessions pane report as the application the connection is coming from?  Is it possible that the user is running a custom program that is creating the connections?

Hi Bert, thanks for the reply,

So it happened again over the weekend, all at 3:30 am on Sat 6-24-17. All 9 inactive connections have been open for 2d 3h 56m, even though there is a 120min inactive session auto logoff.

The application that ALL of the connections are coming from is: Client(10.2.0.839)(LFSO/10.2.0.383)

Any suggestions?

Ed,

The inactive session timer will not apply if the users are in the middle of certain types of client actions that might be long-running and "appear" to be inactive.

I would check the PCs they are connected from to see if it matches up, and then check to see what kind of activity you are getting on your Repository (SQL and volumes).

Additionally, I would log into one of the PCs to see exactly what the user has running.

Do you have Distributed Computing installed and configured?  Is the PC(s) in question part of the DCC cluster?
