Question

ssl for configuration pages

asked on June 21, 2017

Is it possible to have the configuration pages work with SSL such as Forms and Web Access. Currently if we use the page as https we are prompted to enter in our windows credentials. This poses an issue due not allowing us to get to the page even if we put the credentials for the servers local admin. This poses an issue if the site has a host name. When the site does not have a host name on the binding we are able to reach the site. Is there anything that I am missing for configuring this?

I'm having the same exact issue as you and i haven't had much luck troubleshooting this either. If anyone has advice on how to fix this issue it would be much appreciated.

I can reproduce the failed authentication error you describe, but only when trying to connect from the server machine.  If I run a browser (I tried both IE and Chrome) on another machine, I can successfully authenticate with Windows credentials.  Does that work for you?

I still receive the error regardless if i log on from the server or from a different machine.

I still have the same issue when trying to access from a different machine other than the server. The difference is it eventually accepts my credentials it then poses an issue where something like Web Access or the Mobile configuration site has to be done locally on the server.

Has there been any update on this. I was able to do this with Forms and with Web Access but not with Mobile.
