Question

Repository Name User - System Manager

asked on May 1, 2017

Is their a way to assign a Repository Named User System Manager Access?

I realize this is not a typical request but currently the Server is in the Cloud without a dedicated VPN where by the Server is not part of the customer's Domain and I / they want to be able to manager named User Licenses additionally we do not want public exposure so they can only access Web Access and Client / Admin Console

As a non-System Manager in an Avante system, repository users with the "Manage Trustees" privilege can administer named user licenses for users within their own repository.

Other actions, such as creating users and groups or disconnecting users, can also be granted via privileges.

Is there some reason this is insufficient?

Could you clarify this statement. We have a user(s) on an Avante System that have the Manage Trustees Privilege but cannot assign users a license unless they login as a system manager.

and the help documentation specifies that you need to be a system manager to assign a license

Just looking for clarification on how this should perform and determine from there if a support case needs to be created.

That works fine I should have tested prior vs going on the customers assessment.

Thanks :)

However I assume it is not possible then?

This is still an issue. "Manage Trustee" does not seem to provide this ability. I even had the user login to the Admin Console using the built-in "Admin" Account but because they are not logging in as a Windows Account System Manager Functions are not available which seems to encompass assigning "Named User" licenses.

This is RIO not Avante.

Hopefully I am still just missing something.
