Question

First page recognition in QuickFields Scanning app

asked on March 24, 2017

I have a QuickFields session configured to recognize the first page of a new document by a QR code, which works correctly in Quickfields 10.  However, the QuickFields Scanning app treats a stack of QR cover pages as a single document.  It assigns the correct class and performs the expected image processing tasks, but does not split the document.  Is this a limitation of the scanning app?

Thanks. Can you please apply the Quick Fields 10 Update 1 Patch and see if that resolves the issue? It contains some fixes that may be relevant. I tried scanning a batch of copies of your attached document in an updated version of Quick Fields Scanning using a simple identification condition (Barcode is not empty) and it correctly split the documents.

It should be able to split the document just like in Quick Fields. What exact version of Quick Fields Scanning are you using (located under the 'Account' tab of the start page)?

If you are able to do so without revealing sensitive information, can you attach an example of one of the barcodes that is failing?

Version 10.0.0.976.

Page 1 of the attached shows the QR codes I'm using.  They identify a document class and a company name, coded in JSON, which I parse out using pattern matching.  The class name is used to classify the document and the company name is added into the template.

In QuickFields, a job with several of these QR codes will be split out, classified, the companies identified, and then the first page (the QR code) is removed from the document.

In QuickFields Scanning, the same job will be identified as a single document, classified, and the first QR code removed.  Subsequent QR codes become additional pages within the first document.

Thanks Tessa!  Version 10.1 correctly recognizes new first pages.
