Question

No repository list on burned PLUS CD

asked on January 24, 2017

I am assisting a user who is having troubles with seeing the repository when it has been burned on a CD.  The screenshot below is what we get when the executable file is ran from the CD.

The interesting part is that the executable file opens just fine with the repository when we launch it from a temporary folder saved on the desktop.

We have tried burning to disc directly from the PLUS wizard and from a temp folder and using different burn methods (drag and drop, right-click, from pop-up dialog box, etc.) to no avail.

Can you try the CD on another machine?  An issue like this can be machine and OS specific.  It usually occurs when the Plus CD is unable to locally load the database and repository on the machine.

Do you know what the requirements are for the machine in order to load the database and repository?

You have to have at least the following specs for the Plus viewer to run.

  • CPU: 700 MHz or faster processor
  • Memory: 256 MB RAM
  • Operating system: Windows XP (Service Pack 2), Windows Server 2003 (Service Pack 1), Windows Vista (Service Pack 1), Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 7
  • Web browser: Internet Explorer 6.0

Note on the older machines, you need to give the viewer time (a minute or so) to display the repository.
