Forms Network Failure in Laserfiche Mobile

asked on June 16, 2016

I'm trying to access Forms through the iOS Laserfiche App. I believe I've configured everything as it should be, and am able to log into the repository and Forms just fine, but when I click on Tasks, Fill Out Form, Drafts, My History or Teams, I receive an error message stating: "Network failure. Please check your network connections."

The Forms server I've configured to connect to is our internal one, and is not in a DMZ.

In the Laserfiche server App Server Configuration page, under Devices, it indicates that I'm successfully logging into our Forms server. However, I still can't access the forms via the app. I can access Forms just fine internally on our network via my laptop.

Thanks,

Michael

Michael,  Check your firewall settings for access to your Forms server.  Both your Windows firewall settings and corporate firewall settings.  We had similar issue and it was our corporate firewall that was part of the problem.

Hi Michelle,

I checked our firewall settings and they look correct.

Thanks,

Michael

We have the same issue. LF Mobile is installed on an internal server which is NAT'ed to a public IP address for access from either port 80 or 443. We've tried configuring LF Mobile to access our internal forms server and our DMZ forms server. Neither will work. If anyone is able to access forms via LF Mobile, I'd like to know how you have this configured. Thanks.

Hello Michael,

If you were to go to your Mobile App Configuration Page, and not the Forms server you have configured. Can you go to your iPhone and put in that exact Forms URL into your iPhone web browser(not the app) and see if you encounter any issues there?

Andrew,

Sorry for the long delay in replying. When I enter the URL listed under Web Access Host URL from the Web Access Configuration Page, it sees the server, but won't allow me to log in. It says that my user name or password is incorrect.

We have two Forms servers. One on our primary Laserfiche server, and another in the DMZ. Am I correct in assuming that the DMZ version is the one we should be hitting with the Mobile app?

Thanks,

Michael

Did you receive confirmation on your question about which Forms URL should be entered?

Blake, sorry, but as this was three years ago, I don't recall. I was able to get it working eventually, though likewise, I don't recall what the specific resolution was. Sorry.

Hi all,

We've been experiencing a similar situation here, where we have an external URL which points to IIS. The LF App server & Forms are both installed on the same machine and when using the external server URL in the app we are able to access the repository, but get the same "Network Error" as Michael when trying to access anything to do with forms.

I've tried using the external & internal address, and the IP address for the forms server in the Laserfiche App but they all seem to give the same error. The only thing I have noticed is that using the external URL from the Laserfiche Server (i.e. the external address pointing to itself) the page doesn't load, does the app call the forms URL from the app itself (i.e. it would have to be the external address for the server) or does it call it through the app server somehow (i.e. I could use the internal address for the server).

Many thanks,

Dan

the app calls Forms server directly, so the Forms needs to be public accessible too. Hence we recommend to try access Forms from web browser on the mobile device.

Hi Guys.

I had a similar bug and I finally found a solution for my case. I hope it could help you.

All my Laserfiche servers are installed on the same machine.

From the office, to access to Laserfiche Form, the users type "http://servername/Forms"  but from outside, they type "http://external_link/Forms".  If from the office the users type the external link, the user will have an error.

In the Mobile Server Configuration, I can't type :

or "http://localhost/Forms

and "http://internal_ip_address/Forms" or "http://external_link/Forms"  or "http://external_ip_address/Forms"  doesn't work with mobile app.

From the mobile Web Browser, I can access to the Laserfiche Form using this URL : "http://external_link/Forms"  but like I said before, it doesn't work with the mobil App.

This is what I did to resolve my problem.

To your Server, find and change "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts".
Add this line  "127.0.0.1          external_link" (without http://  and /Forms)

Save it.

To Mobile Server Configuration / Laserfiche Forms Server, add a new connection with your external URL.

Enjoy!
